EastBurn (video) is a Public House in the truest sense. We bring together honest food, inspired drinks and great people in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. It’s where Portlanders go to meet. We give back to the community with school fundraiser dinners, serving up Happy Cup Coffee to help employ individuals with disabilities and supporting RIDE ON, Portland’s safe ride program with proceeds from our monthly “Beer Belly” Brewers’ Dinners. Local artists’ work is displayed without commission, we host live music on a regular basis and we serve up great food and drink until 2am every night.
The Kitchen Chef Joseph Dougherty and his talented staff create dishes from scratch that are inventive and playful with great twists on the traditional. Chef and staff take regular field trips to get hands on with our purveyors and farmers, whether it’s off to the elk ranch, the goat dairy, mushroom picking or to brave the honey bees at the apiary. The menu has a little something for all tastes, from dishes featuring wild boar and lobster, to a happy hour grilled cheese recognized as being one of the best in the country by Food & Wine Magazine. Chef Dougherty is a Culinary Institute of America graduate and hails from Philadelphia where he was Executive Chef at Bistro M after working four years under Executive Chefs Tom Hannum and Pat Diamico at the Hotel DuPont.
The House Not to be outdone, our bartenders and staff treat every night as though they are hosting their own dinner party. Making sure guests are well taken care of and happy with an ever changing selection of 19 draft beers, creative cocktails using locally distilled spirits and a nitrogen Wine Keeper, allowing glass pours with bottle freshness.
The Patio “Portland’s coolest” Willamette Week
Love the outdoors? So do we….Our patio has mosaic fire-tables, swinging chairs, overhead heaters and a closeable roof to keep it warm and dry year round. When the sun is shining, the roof opens to warm up Portland’s coolest patio.
The Tap Room After dinner, it’s time for some more fun. Head downstairs to the Tap Room and test your SkeeBall skills, find that perfect song on the jukebox, dance to a great DJ, or get some zen relaxation watching the fish in the giant aquarium. The Taproom, like the rest of EastBurn, has something for everyone, and something different every night of the week. Join us for Sunday-Funday! ShanRock’s Pub Trivia every Sunday starting at 6pm, followed by our double feature Movie-Nite, starting at 8pm.
